February is Women in Horror Month!

February is Women in Horror Month! Decreed so by Hannah Neurotica author of Axe Wound Zine, this month is dedicated to women and their influence on horror. Many bloggers are participating in this event including Fascination with Fear which will spotlight horror villainesses and Day of the Woman which will explore “What if (insert psycho/monster/killer here) had been a woman?” Read more about the movement here, here, and here.

As for my contribution, this month will be a veritable smorgasbord of female monsters, films that focus on fears of women as well as those that empower women. I’ll be taking a look at my favorite female authors in horror criticism (Carol Clover and Barbara Creed) and keeping you informed about the fine females that run this business inside and out. Stay Tuned.
