Monster of the Month: Cleopatra or the Feathered Hen

“Can a full grown woman really love a midget?” The answer to that question is at the core of Feathered Hen’s monstrosity. Once the beautiful and talented trapeze artist Cleopatra, Henny got her due when she tried to poison her midget husband Hans.

Hans was already married when he met Cleopatra, but that didn’t stop this greedy gal from luring him away from his wife in the hopes that she’d benefit from his recent windfall. All is well for the happy couple until the wedding feast, as all the freaks gather round to rejoice in Hans’ new bride

"We accept her! One of us! One of us! Gooble gobble, gooble gobble!" they all sing, but Cleopatra recoils in horror at the thought of being one of the “filthy, slimy freaks.” It’s then that she resolves to poison her husband, but she doesn’t bargain on the wrath of the freaks once they find out about her devious scheme.

On a dark and stormy night the freaks put their plan into motion and ambush Cleopatra as she hides beneath a circus cart. According to the carnival barker, there’s no way of knowing if it was the storm or the revenge of the freaks that made her into what she is. But one thing is certain, she has become the one thing she feared most, a freak.

    Monster Girl is most happy to have landed in Monster Land! I would say the chicken lady from Tod Browning's Freaks totally has it all over Cleo in the creepy lady department. Gooba Gabba one of us!

Vince gives an unsettling performance as the psychotic Ben Dexter, who owns his own catering business to finance his and his brother's hobby of capturing young women and keeping them in the basement.
