Paranormal Activity 2: Actor Mish Mash


One of the more interesting horror projects on the horizon is the much anticipated follow up to the independent hit, Paranormal Activity. All kinds of rumors are flying around the internet with speculation as to who will be cast to lead the movie. Katie Featherstone and Micah Sloat, the original couple haunted by demonic forces (above), are the natural go-to actors, but Katie hasn’t gotten the green light for her involvement while Micah is talking about the movie like he could be in on it. The resulting confusion leads the mind to wonder, just which actors will be helming Paranormal Activity 2 when it goes up against Saw VII 3-D in October? Here are some of my fantasy choices.

The Obvious Pick: Justin Long and Jennifer Carpenter
Long has proven he can play the lovable jerk with his patronizing portrayal of the psychologist boyfriend in Drag Me to Hell, and Jennifer Carpenter got her lessons in demonic possession with her title role in the Exorcism of Emily Rose.


The WTF Pick: Nicolas Cage and Jennifer Garner
This is less about the movie and more about me wanting to see these two back in movies. Lets face it, with Cage and Garner, P2 would turn into an action-espionage-ghost-thriller. It would still be interesting to see.


The Time Travel Pick: James Stewart and Joan Crawford
I love James Stewart in just about everything, including his slow descent into madness from Hitchcock’s Vertigo and if Joan Crawford brought just one fifth of her nutty insanity to the role...

Zombieland Trailer Censors Undead Boobs

I was on MySpace when a Zombieland promo popped up with Woody Harrelson and that kid from Juno giving tips on how to survive a zombie apocalypse. This bit of fun seguewayed into the trailer and I was about to click off when I noticed the zombie stripper that chases the Asian businessman out of the nudie club (an image that has stuck with me since my first viewing of the redband trailer) was now wearing a digital bikini top! Life Lessons I Learned from Watching Clash of the Titans

Okay so I’m kinda riffing off Pax Romano’s gig over at Billy Love’s Stu , but imitation is the highest form of flattery right? Anyway here are the things about life I learned from Clash of the Titans, in theaters now. Have multiple fabulous costume changes—one outfit is never enough for one movie. I could not help but notice how many different looks Io, Perseus’s love interest, has in Clash—all of them fabulous of course. She starts off in a drapey number and pristine up-do, revealing only her face. This gives way an off-the-shoulder tunic and loose locks when she has to get down and dirty fighting giant scorpions. Io then ditches the cape and sets her look to stun with a fancy drape adorned with a knitted, faux fur accent.
